If the student flute pads are at the end of their service life (usually 4–10 years depending on the number of plays and the cushions), we recommend that the student flute be rep added or overhauled. In addition to basic maintenance, an repadding also includes opening the pins and replacing all wearing soft parts (pads, felts, dampening material and corks). Additional work, even major damage to the instrument can be repaired during this overhaul. After an overhaul, the instrument is better than new in many respects.
The price of student flute repadding starts at €499 + supplies and additional work. The price is determined based on the time and supplies used for the maintenance and is affected by the quality, age and previous maintenance history of the flute. The typical cost of cushioning is €580–900. Upon request, we will provide a more detailed cost estimate for the maintenance once we have seen the flute.
